Niamey AU Summit: Practical training for the 350 protocol officers selected

Following the various theoretical trainings they received over several weeks, the 350 protocol officers retained by the UA Niger 2019 Agency to provide service during the Extraordinary Summit of Heads and Government of the African Union that Niamey is going to host in June-July 2019 have just followed, from April 15 to 26, 2019, a practical training thanks to the support of the Support Fund for Vocational Training and Apprenticeship (FAFPA, partner of the UA Niger 2019 Agency in the training component).

This training was provided by the Professional Training School for Security Professions (EFOPRIMES). It consisted of practical exercises on all aspects of the protocol, which enabled some 350 agents to face the realities on the ground.

Indeed, for ten (10) days, these protocol agents were subjected, according to the practices of the African Union, to simulation exercises on the role and the responsibility of the protocol agent as well as regards the reception and installation of delegations, the establishment of a procession as the establishment of a device for meals, etc.

For the Secretary General of the UA Niger 2019 Agency, Lieutenant-Colonel Mamoudou Amadou, “in view of the quality of the trainers and the proven professionalism of EFOPRIMES, I am convinced that we will receive our guests with all the elegance and all the good manners of the legendary hospitality of our country ”.

After noting that, for the need of this training, “EFOPRIMES has mobilized all the necessary means to allow participants to touch the good practices in terms of the protocol”, the Secretary General of the UA Niger 2019 Agency has indicated that with “the grouped training of two days which will take place very recently and which will be structured around conferences on the very process of the creation and the objectives of the African Union, diplomatic communication, or even the necessary collaboration between protocol officers, security officers and the press, it is safe to say at this level that we are fully prepared to honorably welcome our Conference guests in about two months ”.

Previously, the CEO of EFOPRIMES, Mr. Yacine Hassane Diallo, explained all the outlines of the training, while hoping that it met the expectations of the UA Niger 2019 Agency.
